These past few months have felt like eternity, while at the same time, I look back and wonder where in the world the time has gone. It feels like just yesterday my 13 year old self was saying goodbye to my brave sister as she embarked on her year abroad in Germany, and then just a year later when we decided to a host an exchange student from, what had now become a some-what familiar, Germany for ten months.
And now here I am writing this blog... just two and a half years later from when we said our farewells to my sister and now 5 months since I applied for this program. (has it really been 5 months already?!) It's all been so overwhelming!
So. Long story short, I am going to be spending my junior year of high school abroad in Germany along with the 50 other high-schoolers who won the scholarship. We depart on August 8th to Washington D.C. where we will spend a few days until we head off to GERMANY!! Once we land in good old Deutschland, we will be spending three weeks together in a cultural emmersion camp, other wise know as "the-best-three-weeks-of-your-life" camp;) After that we will split ways, exchange bittersweet farewells, and leave to meet our host families whom we will be living with for the next 9 months in a foriegn country. Sound like an adventure? I think so:)
